The Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) is the world’s largest recognised professional body for the credit management community. As well as facilitating professional qualifications, the Institute’s members have access to a host of resources. For example, their “Knowledge Hub” covers such subjects as “credit risk” and “legal and compliance”, as well as “skills builder”.
As a longstanding member of the Institute, in addition to being a Fellow and a member of it's "technical committee", I recently received details of their online “Managing Credit in a Crisis” tool. This comprises a suite of tools which all credit professionals can use in a crisis. I would like to emphasise three points:
- It is open to non-members of the CICM.
- It is absolutely free to use.
- Even if you think that you are not a “credit professional”, it will be of interest – if you are supplying goods or services on credit then, in my book, you are a credit professional.
Access to the resources can be found here, where you will find a useful checklist titled “Managing Credit in a Crisis”.
There are other useful resources too such as “Government Support” and “Employment Advice”. I think that you will find the “Tools and Resources” offering particularly helpful because it includes a “Members’ Advice Service” which is currently open to non-members of the institute.
I do hope you find these resources useful during these uncertain times. As ever, please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss any of your debt recovery or credit control needs.
With very best wishes,
Stephen
